'Tis the Season

Last year I decided I wanted to make and decorate a gingerbread house. Unfortunately I decided too late, and could not find any in stores, unless I wanted to pay $40 for a fancy one from Williams & Sonoma. This year, I got mine early, from Market Basket for $7.99. The house pieces, frosting/glue and candies were all in the kit, you just needed to assemble the house and decorate it! Things were not theat simple, I could not keep the roof together and ended up running out of the glue/frosting. I even tried to use crazy glue for the candy, but that didn't work well sticking to a cookie. At least my cats were entertained with fallen candies...

Unpacking & Coldness**

Almost two weeks ago, I've moved to a new location, I literally moved from one "town" to another "town":-) I love my new town, it is very cultural, and offers many ethnic food shops which I absolutely love. Upon moving and while unpacking, I've come to the conclusion that I have too many clothes! (*Insert applause from my husband since I have finnaly realized this*!!) Luckily, the new apartment has come with two closets ("wow!") which is better than our previous one closet apartment. Now, we each have our own closet! (*insert applause from myself*) However, I honestly do have too many clothes, and too many scarves!!

The apartment we moved into is a rennovated house built in 1910, I can't help but wonder if the door knobs are authentic, they are so pretty.

Thank you Martha Stewart, for helping an unorganized girl get organized!http://www.homedepot.com/Martha-Stewart-Living/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xh3Z4tg/R-202104737/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

**Titled "Unpacking & Coldness" because I've been doing a lot of unpacking and todays forecast read "28 degrees, feels like 12 degrees"!!

How do you guys stay organized? I still have so many sheets and towels with no place to store them, I am thinking of purchasing some decorative boxes to store them in; (source: homedecormaker)

Fall Colors

The days are getting shorter; when I get home from work  now it gets dark so soon. This weekend the clocks change, but then soon enough it will be dark by 4:30. Across the street from my apartment are two small parks, one for kids which has a playground and the other for people to let their dogs run around.

Happy Halloween!

It's fun getting things for your home to decorate for the major Holidays such as  Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. I love that this Halloween decor can stay out through the Thanksgiving Holiday:

10/31/10: Off to see the Wizard!

Halloween has always been a favorite Holiday of mine; I have always enjoyed deciding what to be each year, and then finding the perfect costume to wear. Although between the ages of 10 and 14 I was happy to dress up as a witch every year, when I was super young my Mom always had creative costumes for me to wear.  I remember my Mom once made my own ruby red slippers to go with my Dorothy costume. She covered a pair of shoes in glue and red glitter; they were so great. This year, I will be Dorothy, and from a pair of old pink leather shoes I do not wear anymore, I made my own Ruby Red Slippers.

Autumn @ Amherst

Last weekend Cem and I vitisted my sister at her University, UMass Amherst. It was a gorgeous weekend, perfect fall weather, and the campus looked so pretty during this time of year.  My sister - Veronica, and her boyfriend Mark took us on a walk through a series of paths through the woods around the one side of the campus. It was nice during the day, but I imagine it could be spooky at night!

EPhotos

I love our wedding photographer, she's awesome, check out her site:

This weekend my fiance and I had our Engagement photo session. I was a bit nervous because I've never had my pictures professionally taken; I didn't know if I would feel too shy and in the end look awkward. Our photographer, Karen, was super nice and made us feel so comfortable, it was a great day! I was giggling a lot but thats not a bad thing:-)

I wish I could better juggle wedding planning with my love for photography but I tried and I did not do very well.

All photos in this post were taken by Karen of Blush Photo.

Absorbing the Light - Part 1

When I was out taking pictures it was raining on and off the entire afternoon.

The rain wasn't too heavy though, and when the sun came out everything looked so fresh.

Goodbye Sun, Hello Weekend!

Finally the weekend is here:)) Unfortunately, a rainy weekend is forecasted for Boston, MA.

Mt. Vernon. At the end of this street is a restaurant called "Mont Vernon Restaurant", they opened in 1935 and are famous for their "Twin Lobsters Special" http://www.mtvernonrestaurants.com/loc_somerville.htm

I see this house every morning while waiting for the "T" (aka Subway) on my way to work, it has been "For Sale" for over a year.
